We are an industry-leading consulting firm in the Hospitality sector committed to helping our clients achieve improvement in operational effectiveness. We collaborate with clients to realize sustainable profit enhancement, service improvement, process redesign, and superior management operating systems. We do this by leveraging a detailed analytic methodology to produce and quantify immediate financial results.

We are currently looking to expand the Business Development Team with the addition of a dedicated, curious, and detail-oriented Business Development Associate. With Carpedia Hospitality, you will be part of an innovative team committed to supporting rapid growth in a fast-paced environment.

As the Business Development Associate, you will work in an administrative role, reporting directly to the Business Development Manager, to contribute to the the annual business development strategy.

Working primarily out of the Oakville office, with some flexibility to work remotely, this individual will primarily focus on supporting lead and revenue generating initiatives, within a variety of sectors of the hospitality industry.

More specifically, this role will be responsible for supporting and executing tasks aligned with the annual business strategy within the following areas:

  • Market Research
    • Conduct in-depth, cross-sector research of potential clients and connections;
    • Conduct research about about sector dynamics, key customers and competitors to assist in the formation of a customized outreach approach; and
    • Through the use of the above research, update current contact lists for current markets, as well as develop contact lists for expansion into different sectors.
  • CRM Management
    • Champion and maintain the CRM database, including tracking sales leads;
    • Work collaboratively with the team to collate and maintain client information in the CRM database; and
    • Provide assistance on additional projects as necessary.
  • Marketing Assistance (as required)
    • Support in the development and administration of marketing content for both internal and external purposes; and
    • Become familiar with industry organizations and associations, and research/recommend relevant upcoming industry events for executives to attend.

What we require

  • The successful candidate will possess the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree required, with a distinction in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field, as we all a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role and/or industry;
    • Exceptional research and analytical skills, with a keen interest in business development;
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, and has the ability to learn new systems quickly;
    • Problem-solving and resourcefulness aptitude, with a demonstrated ability to work independently, and optimize the use of all available resources with limited direction;
    • Ability to work collaboratively and productively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment;
    • Strong organizational skills and great attention to detail; and 
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
